When he's not busy with his many other activities, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Sophie and Jasper, theater, and enjoying the little things in life.

Mattea Maroney

Senior Assistant Instructor

Mattea Maroney started training under Mr. Delfino in 2006 at the age of nine. As a brown belt in 2010, she expressed interest in teaching, and began assisting under supervision. In the years since, she has established herself as Mr. Delfino's right-hand-man (or woman!), and is trusted to teach any class. She is known for being far more ferocious than her slight frame would indicate, as she certainly gets her students' attention, and does a fantastic job with all age and skill levels. Mattea earned her black belt on July 4th, 2011 at the Shaolin Temple in China.

In her spare time, Mattea is an aspiring writer who is currently working on her first book, in addition to active in cosplay and anime conventions. She is also active in many youth group and church organizations in and around the tri-valley area.
