My boys (9, 12) have been going to USSD for a year and a half now and they love it. The instructors at the dojo do a great job of teaching the kids self defense and the five principles, effort, etiquette, sincerity, self-control and character. They also manage to make it fun. The kids have two group classes a week, one private lesson and then sparring on the weekend. I think the sparring (with protective gear) is fantastic because if my boys happen to get in a real fight they won't panic and will be able to defend themselves. I also like the fact that the instructor stresses that only way to win a fight is to avoid getting into one. USSD is a great program and there are always specials that allow for a free trial.
